1 and Rearin' to Go!!!

Can you believe it? Our little munchkin has already turned 1!!! We had a couple of birthday parties for her. One with my family in Vegas, and one with Mike's family in Boise.

This is her birthday cake and party in Vegas. The height of the cake was a little intimidating to her. She wouldn't dig into it until we cut her off a smaller piece.

Here's us at her party in Boise.

Kira and her rubber ducky cake

She had no trouble digging in this time.

What can I say? She enjoyed her party immensely.
The aftermath of Kira.

So here are a few stats, facts, and opinions about our 1 year old. She is 10% in height (go figure), 50% in weight, and 90% in head size. How do ya like them numbers? She is really delightful and is always ready to give you a smile. She only has two teeth, and one is significantly longer than the other since it came in two months before the other one. We call it her steak tooth. She is a definite socialite and constantly tries to get the attention of everyone around her. She has totally straight hair, and she has lots of it. She loves to be crazy!

She is very loving. She loves to cuddle up with blankets, us, and her baby doll. She will even give you a "beso" (kiss in Spanish) if she is in the mood. As a one year old, she definitely has her own opinions of what she will do and when she will do it, like giving kisses.

She loves books. She especially loves interactive books. Although she turns the pages so fast, that I usually can't read the whole page, and she does not care to go back to that page.

Kira adores animals. Especially dogs. Mike's sister was dogsitting for a friend, and she brought the dog over when she visited us. Kira chased that dog all over the place. One night I heard her going, "Mmmmmm...," like she does when she eats dinner. I looked down. Lo and behold, she is eating dog food and obviously enjoying it.

She is adventurous and loves to have fun. This is her in Mexico with one of her cousins, Giada.

She is very curious. Don't worry, she's not reaching for a log down there or I wouldn't have the picture. She loves the toilet and the toilet paper.

She doesn't know how much she likes the ocean yet. The sand was okay. But the huge ocean waves, kinda freaked her out.

She loves going outside and looking out windows. This was her daily routine on the cruise boat.

She loves food just like her folks. She not picky and eats pretty much everything. Which is quite a feat when you only have two teeth. The steak tooth is quite an effective tool though.

She is intelligent. She is a smart little cookie. 90%! Need I say more?

We love having Kira in our home. She is the light of our lives, and she brings so much happiness to us. We are so blessed to have her as part of our family!
